God is good and always faithful! The first mission training school is coming to a close. I can’t say enough about how it has been a blessing to watch the Lord grow in Dominique’s life. Not everything has been perfect. There have been times of frustration and times of utter amazement of what God is doing in and among us. As Dominique leaves Costa Rica on the 31st for the States, his stay there will be short. He will be finishing up his internship in Effingham at Christ’s Church. At the end of May, he will be headed to Brazil to play football. However, God has opened doors for him to do ministry there, in the team as well as the church. So in the coming months, please be praying for Dominique. Pray for strength. Pray that he stays close to the Lord and that football does not become his idol, but God stays first in his life.
Teams are beginning to come more frequently. Soon we will be very busy with teams and preparing for teams. This is a time of year that everyone is stretched with the busy schedule, fatigue, hunger, hot weather, long drives, and close living quarters. Who said being a disciple of Christ was comfortable? Through these times we see our savior come to life in many different ways. Please be praying for the teams that will be coming and for God to show himself to them while on mission here.
In the midst of all that is happening here, this scripture is on my mind.
Malachi 1: 10 "Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you," says the LORD Almighty, "and I will accept no offering from your hands. My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations," says the LORD Almighty.
God wants our best our very best. Not only does he want it he demands it. In this scripture he says if your not going to give me your best, which is what is due, just close the doors of your temple, because my name is great among the nations. There are people who get who God is and that he deserves our best. We should not sing or do anything out of routine. God has not asked us to practice religion. He has asked us to live as a living sacrifice for him. Give to God our best so that God will accept our offerings and be pleased with our worship. God deserves all of us. Who are we to think he will be pleased with the scraps that we have left over?
Let’s vow to give God our best in every aspect of our lives. FOR OUR GOD IS GREAT AMONG THE NATIONS!!
Its always special when a family member or friend comes with a team, but extra special when your brother comes and has the privilege of sharing the message!
